MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Aleksandr Chervyakov paid a visit to China’s Heilongjiang Province, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Beijing.
During the visit, the head of the diplomatic mission held talks with the leadership of the cities of Qiqihar, Jiamusi, Dongning and Heilongjiang Province. The Belarusian delegation visited leading companies in mechanical engineering, biotechnologies, petrochemistry, agricultural industry, and logistics. The parties reached mutual understanding on deepening practical interaction in the areas of industrial cooperation, scientific and technical cooperation, humanitarian exchanges, trade and logistics.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China were established on 20 January 1992. In September 2022, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization events, the leaders of Belarus and China adopted a joint declaration on the establishment of the highest level of relations in history: an all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership. In March 2023, during the state visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to China, the heads of state adopted a joint statement on the basic principles of the development of exemplary relations of an all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership between Belarus and China in a new era.
