VOLKOVYSK, 14 June (BelTA) - Volkovysk-based Bellakt plans to expand its export geography by 15 countries thanks to new production facilities, Bellakt Director General Vitaly Lupik told the media on 14 June, BelTA has learned.
"Our current capacity does not let us increase processing volumes. Over the past year, we have been thinking about how to process milk in the coming years, how to process it and sell it with the highest possible margin. Our specialty is baby food. Accordingly, we plan to build a plant to double our output,” said Vitaly Lupik.
Bellakt currently produces 7,000 tonnes of baby food per year. New production facilities will increase capacity to 15,000 tonnes per year.

“At the moment, we sell baby food to 11 countries. We are getting our products certified to export to seven more countries. We are also gearing up to tap into 15 more markets,” the head of the enterprise said. “The demand is high. The demand for baby food has always been high.”
During his visit to Bellakt, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko was briefed on the plans to build additional facilities for dry baby food production. These products are in high demand not only in Belarus but also abroad.

“When touring a promising facility the head of state thinks strategically for the whole country, for the entire industry. So he noted that this is a high-margin product that has very high profitability. There are many cheese factories, many dairies in the country. But we have one baby food producer. This year’s upgrade will allow it to tap into several new markets,” said Yuri Karayev, Chairman of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee.

The new plant will be built according to the GMP standard. This international standard establishes requirements for production and quality control at various enterprises.
According to Yuri Karayev, this will help solve the issue of milk oversupply and enable the company to gain a foothold in Latin America, Africa and Asia.

“The head of state noted that this project holds a promise and should have been implemented long ago. Therefore, we immediately discussed the issues that could rise in the course of construction and got them settled. We also touched on the funding structure. The president noted that this is public money whatever the source,” he noted.
