Belarus' agricultural industry taps into 18 new markets in 2019

MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) – Belarus' agricultural industry tapped into 18 new markets in 2019, Belarus' Agriculture and Food Minister Anatoly Khotko said at the ministry's board meeting, BelTA has learned.

“We have extended out reach into 18 new markets. All in all, we supply goods to 104 countries. The CIS countries account for 85% of our total export, European states for 4%, and others for 11%. Belarus has increased supplies of dairy products, rapeseed oil, poultry meat, vegetables, fruit, potato and other products,” the minister noted.

Belarus' agricultural and food exports went up by 4.5% up to $5.5 billion in 2019 over 2018. The agricultural industry plans to increase the exports by 4.2% to exceed $5.7 billion, the minister said.
