New staff quarters of Belarusian Embassy in Ukraine to open soon

MINSK, 18 August (BelTA) – Belarus has built a residence for the Ambassador and living quarters for the diplomats in Ukraine, spokesperson for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told a press briefing, BelTA has learnt.

“We are gearing up for the official opening of the complex of buildings around the Belarusian Embassy in Ukraine. This marks another practical step in the implementation of the Belarus-Ukraine intergovernmental agreement on the terms of maintenance of diplomatic missions,” Dmitry Mironchik said.

Under the agreement, the Belarusian side, on a parity basis, was allotted a 0.25-hectare land plot in Solomensky District of Kiev for the construction of a complex of buildings, including the residence of the Ambassador, quarters for diplomats and embassy staff, underground parking for 20 cars, guest parking, and playgrounds for children and recreation area for adults.

Commissioning of the complex of buildings is in sync with the strategy of development of the network of Belarusian diplomatic missions abroad. This will help Belarus save on rent of residential premises, ensure a high level of security of Belarusian diplomats and members of their families.
