Contact group on Ukraine to reconvene in Minsk on 21 December

MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) – The next session of the trilateral contact group on Ukraine is scheduled for 21 December, BelTA learned from the OSCE's special representative in the trilateral contact group on resolving the conflict in Ukraine's east Martin Sajdik on 7 December.

“The next conference will be held in two weeks, on 21 December,” said Martin Sajdik.

Sessions of the subgroups on political and humanitarian affairs took place in Minsk on 7 December. In particular, the subgroup on political affairs discussed the so-called Steinmeier formula among other things. The subgroup on humanitarian affairs discussed the release of people held in captivity due to the conflict. The work continued with a growing feeling of responsibility before the detained people and their families, noted the OSCE special representative. The sides also discussed the vital problem of water supply in several areas of Lugansk Oblast. The sides agreed that legal and technical solutions will have to be found within one week.

A meeting of the subgroup on security affairs took place in Minsk the day before.
