Belarusian scientists honored with awards

MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – Belarusian scientists are among the awardees of the national academies of sciences of Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine, BelTA learnt from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB).

“The awards have been presented in recognition of the outstanding scientific results reached in the course of joint research, and also in line with the results of the contest 2015,” the NASB said.

The award in technical sciences went to chief research scientist at Lykov Heat and Mass Transfer Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Doctor of Technical Science Professor Leonard Vasilyev and leading research scientist of the same institute Candidate of Technical Science Alexander Zhuravlev for a series of works on innovative systems of thermo transformation for the use of secondary and alternative energy resources (Belarus-Ukraine).

Among the award winners in natural sciences were workers of the NASB Institute of Physics: deputy head of the laboratory of light field transformation systems Candidate of Physico-Mathematical Sciences Mikhail Khodasevich, head of the laboratory of light field transformation systems Candidate of Physico-Mathematical Sciences Georgy Sinitsyn and engineer on sci-tech information at the laboratory of light field transformation systems Marina Rogovaya. The award was presented for a series of works “Classification and identification of vinic distillers through methods of multiparameter analysis of their spectral response functions” (Belarus-Moldova).

The awards of the Academies of Sciences of Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine bestowed in recognition of remarkable scientific results achieved during joint research have been presented since 1995. The contest is held once in two years following the results of the selection made by a joint decision of the Academies of Sciences of Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova. Winners are named by the Presidiums of the Academies of Sciences of three countries on a rotation basis. In 2015 the results were announced by Moldova.
