MINSK, 17 August (BelTA) – Belarus will open an embassy in the Kingdom of Spain in 2016, reads Resolution No. 643 issued by the Council of Ministers on 17 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the government.
The Finance Ministry shall finance the expenses on opening and maintenance of the Belarusian Embassy in Spain from the amount stipulated in the national budget for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the maintenance of diplomatic missions and consular posts abroad.
Diplomatic relations between Belarus and the Kingdom of Spain were established on 13 February 1992. In 2015 the bilateral trade totaled $269.9 million, with exports making up $20.8 million. Spanish investments in the Belarusian economy totaled $0.5 million in 2015.
