Lukashenko: Washington is turning up degree of NATO’s hostility towards Belarus

MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) - Washington is turning up the degree of NATO’s hostility in the Belarusian direction, Belarusian President, Chairman of the 7th Belarusian People's Congress Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the 7th Belarusian People's Congress on 25 April, BelTA has learned.

"The United States has succeeded in demonizing Moscow and Minsk as enemies. Washington is steadily pushing aggressive narratives against Belarus and Russia, turning up the degree of NATO’s hostility towards us," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

With the enlargement of the Alliance into Finland and Sweden, Washington and Brussels continue to form a belt of unfriendly states around Russia. "Other European countries are next in line to join the alliance. We know their goal. According to the plan, everything should be set on fire along this line," the president said. “We need to understand that the situation requires the utmost restraint in all areas, from information to military. Any careless word or movement may trigger an open armed confrontation, up to the use of nuclear weapons. Everything is ready for this."

The head of state noted that the United States began to supply Ukraine with long-range missiles without any conditions. Earlier, the Americans at least warned that these weapons should not be used to strike at the territory of Russia. "If the situation begins to threaten the internal situation in Russia, Russia will use the entire arsenal it has. It will be an apocalypse," he said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that NATO, at the instigation of the United States, insistently declares the need for intensive militarization of Europe. It is not about defending or repelling some kind of aggression. "For you to understand: the emphasis is on building up the strike and offensive potential," the Belarusian leader stressed.
