MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) – The European Union has become a serious challenger to the United States of America, Belarusian President and Chairman of the 7th Belarusian People’s Congress Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the meeting of the Congress on 25 April, BelTA has learned.
“China and Russia are not the only adversaries and enemies for Americans. Europe, the European Union, is a very serious rival for America,” noted Aleksandr Lukashenko.

That is why the United States is seeking to “overload” Europe with a military conflict.
“People keep asking: what do these Westerners and Americans want? I will say it once again: they just want Russia to be bogged down in this war, to pull it away from the emerging alliance with China. This alliance has not formed yet, but it is coming into existence. Circumstances are pushing Russia and China closer to each other. Americans have realized this, so they need to drive a wedge. In fact, $60 billion [of American aid for Ukraine] is not big money for them: this money is meant to keep them fighting, killing each other,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.
At the same time, one more factor must be taken on board, the president added: “China and Russia are not the only adversaries and enemies for Americans. Europe, the European Union is a very serious rival for America (we saw this during the Trump period), especially since it dared to introduce the euro as an alternative to the dollar. This is a strong currency. Americans do not need any opponents or competitors.”
The head of state believes that this is the reason for the United States to try to “overload” the European Union with the Ukraine war: huge money is spent on militarization, while citizens of EU countries are sent to the front and die there.
“Americans want to kill several birds with one stone: to weaken Russia, overload and weaken Europe as well. They also seek to deal with China one on one in the Pacific Ocean dragging, first of all, India into this fight (England is already there), as well as Australia, maybe Ukraine and South Korea,” added the head of state.
