MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) –  The alliance of Belarus and Russia has a peaceful and positive agenda, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said addressing the 7th Belarusian People’s Congress on 24 April, BelTA has learned.

“I am absolutely sure that our time-tested alliance with Russia will be an example of a peaceful and positive agenda,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko. “I would even say that the union of the Russian Federation and Belarus managed to get ready for today’s tectonic shifts in all fields. And today is our time. Strong sovereign states make a strong union. This is a success formula for any integration,” the president said.

The president noted that current developments pushed Belarusians and Russians to address the most pressing task: to achieve technological sovereignty in the Union State, while maintaining national interests. “And we are confidently doing this and moving towards the desired result,” he said.
