Talks on Ukraine resume in Minsk with meeting of working group coordinators

MINSK, 7 September (BelTA) – The talks on promoting peace in Ukraine resumed in Minsk with a meeting of the coordinators of the working groups of the trilateral contact group OSCE-Ukraine-Russia on 7 September, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The previous meeting of the trilateral contact group took place in the Belarusian capital on 26 August. Back then, OSCE special representative in the trilateral contact group on Ukraine, Ambassador Martin Sajdik called for ceasing fire in the conflict zone in the country's east due to the start of the new academic year.

Several days later, on 1 September, the trilateral contact group held a video conference, during which the parties noted that the ceasefire was observed almost along the whole contact line.

The sides acknowledged the need to continue efforts to make the ceasefire in the zone sustainable.
