Sajdik: Not enough political will to resolve conflict in Ukraine

MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – There is not enough political will to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, OSCE special representative in the trilateral contact group on Ukraine Martin Sajdik said at the international conference One Year of Minsk-II Accords. Achievements, Challenges and Lessons Learned on 11 February, BelTA informs.

“The process of negotiations has entered into an important stage, but now we need political will,” said Martin Sajdik.

In his words, the OSCE cannot force the sides to regulate the conflict. Only joint efforts can help ensure security in the region.

“The talks have gained momentum after a series of meetings of the Normandy Four representatives with U.S. partners. However, the Minsk process legitimizes their results,” he noted.
