Ravkov: Belarus will never be drawn into someone else's wars and conflicts

BORISOV, 14 December (BelTA) – Belarus will never get dragged into someone else's wars and conflicts, Belarus' Defense Minister Andrei Ravkov said when speaking in a ceremony of taking a military oath by the personnel of the 72nd guard united training center for warrant officers and junior specialists on 12 December, BelTA has learned.

Andrei Ravkov noted that the main objective for the global community is to maintain peace on the planet and to protect the main right of a person – the right to life. “There are new attempts to plunge the mankind into chaos. The dissemination of radical and extremist ideas, the outburst of international terrorism which claims lives of peaceful people confirm this cruel reality,” the minister added.

According to the Defense Minister, in these conditions the position of the Belarusian authorities is clear and uncompromising. Belarus will never be drawn into someone else's wars and conflicts and will always be protected from any invasions. “To ensure peace and security the country pursues a multiple-vector peaceful foreign policy, continues the upgrade of the Armed Forces which have always been the most important deterrent against the attempts to talk with our country from the position of force,” Andrei Ravkov.

The minister also stressed that against the backdrop of wars and military conflicts happening in the world, Belarus demonstrates its ability to ensure peace and stability in the country, and a great unity of the Belarusian society.
