OSCE-Ukraine-Russia contact group resumes talks in Minsk

MINSK, 7 September (BelTA) – A meeting of the trilateral contact group to resolve the crisis in Ukraine began in Minsk, Darya Olifer, a spokesperson for Leonid Kuchma, Ukraine's representative in the contact group, wrote in her Facebook account, BelTA has learned.

The meeting was preceded by a meeting of the coordinators of the working groups and also the talks of the working groups.

As was reported, the previous meeting of the trilateral contact group was held in Minsk on 26 August. Then OSCE Ambassador Martin Sajdik called on the parties to the conflict to cease fire in connection with the beginning of the new school year.

During the videoconference of the contact group on 1 September, it was noted that the ceasefire largely holds along the entire line of contact. The parties recognized the need to continue to exert all efforts to ensure that the ceasefire should become sustained.
