Minsk to host next meeting on Ukraine on 20 April

MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – Minsk will host the next meeting on Ukraine on 20 April, OSCE special representative in the trilateral contact group on Ukraine Martin Sajdik told journalists on 6 April, BelTA has learned.

Martin Sajdik pointed out that on 6 April, the working group on humanitarian affairs continued discussing issues concerning the release and exchange of prisoners of war. “The participants will go on reviewing the roadmap presented at the previous meeting,” Martin Sajdik added.

The OSCE special representative in the trilateral contact group on Ukraine also commented on the problems that arose after the opening of the crossing point near the village of Zolotoye in Lugansk Oblast. “Members of the working group believe the situation has to be assessed in terms of security, especially with respect to the marking and fencing of mined areas,” Martin Sajdik stressed. He expressed hope that the crossing point will resume its work in the near future.

The working group on economic affairs mainly discussed property-related issues, pensions, and restoration of the railway infrastructure. “I would like to emphasize once again that the existing economic disconnection leads to serious social and economic problems,” Martin Sajdik said. However, he praised the progress in the restoration of the water supply system.
