MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – The program of cooperation between Belarus and the European Union will be adopted at the Eastern Partnership summit which is due to take place in Brussels on 24 November, French Ambassador to Belarus Didier Canesse said in an interview to Belarus One TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“As for the summit in Brussels, it is expected that the program of cooperation between the European Union and Belarus will be adopted at the event. The program will contain new details,” said Didier Canesse.
In his words, France supports the strengthening of relations between Belarus and the European Union. He stressed that the Eastern Partnership project envisages a differentiated approach, which means that every state defines its level of cooperation with the European Union.
As for the development of the Belarusian-French cooperation, according to the ambassador, the trade and economic relations between the countries are on the rise. This year business delegations from France have visited Belarus many times. The next such visit is scheduled in a week. “The delegation will include representatives of industrial companies. The goal of the visit is to get familiar with the Belarusian market,” the ambassador said.
Didier Canesse also said that the new president of the France-Belarus friendship group at the National Assembly is expected to pay his first official visit to Minsk in late November. The program of the visit will include meetings at the Belarusian parliament and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
