Sivak: No decision on additional flights from Minsk to Kiev until 25 October

MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) - The decision to increase flight frequency from Minsk to Kiev will not be taken until 25 October, Belarus' Minister of Transport and Communications Anatoly Sivak told reporters at the Transport & Logistics expo of the Belarusian Transport Week, BelTA has learned.

"Before we make such a decision, we need to see first if there is a demand. These are considerable costs. If there is the demand, then we will organize an additional flight," said the minister. He drew attention to the fact that the Belarusian side has no technical problems with this.

As was reported recently, Ukraine banned flights by Russian companies, primarily Aeroflot and Transaero, to Ukraine, and also banned, partially or completely, transit flights by Russian air carriers across the country. Russia closed sky to Ukraine in response to the flight ban.
