MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus is set to open her new season with a title defense at the 2026 Brisbane International in Australia, with the tournament scheduled for 4-11 January 2026, BelTA has learned.
Sabalenka clinched the 2025 Brisbane International title after a three-set battle against Russian Polina Kudermetova, coming from behind to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. After Brisbane, the world number one will travel to Melbourne for the Australian Open, the season’s opening Grand Slam, which starts on 18 January. Aryna Sabalenka was crowned Australian Open champion in 2023 and 2024, before finishing runner-up to Madison Keys of the USA in the 2025 final.
To conclude 2025, Aryna Sabalenka will play in the Battle of the Sexes exhibition match against Australian Nick Kyrgios. The match will take place on 28 December in Dubai.
