MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – Belarusian swimmers Alina Zmushka and Ivan Shamshurin clinched victories at the first stage of the Russian Swimming Cup in Kaliningrad, BelTA has learned.
On the second competition day Alina Zmushka clocked 1:07.48 to grab gold in the women’s 100m breaststroke. Earlier, the Belarusian celebrated victory in the women’s 50m breaststroke. Ivan Shamshurin clinched the champion title in the men’s 200m butterfly, touching in 1:59.30. Aliaksei Rylko finished fourth in the men’s 400m medley.
Alesia Akinchyts came in sixth in the women’s 200m freestyle. Hryhory Pekarski placed 12th in the men’s 100m freestyle, while Dzmitry Shulga and Uladzislau Makarevich rounded up Top 30 among 117 participants. Anton Knyshau placed 8th in the men’s 50m breaststroke, Uladzislau Zaiko – 13th. Anastasiya Kuliashova finished 15th in the women's 50m freestyle.
