Olympic champion Litvinovich: I prevailed over very strong rivals

MINSK, 3 August (BelTA) – Two-time Olympic champion from Belarus, trampoline gymnast Ivan Litvinovich commented on his winning performance at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee.

In the final Ivan Litvinovich scored a total of 63.090 points to become the first man of his discipline to clinch back-to-back Olympic titles. Ivan Litvinovich also became Belarus' first two-time Summer Olympics champion in 24 years since Ekaterina Karsten.

“Of course, I was a bit nervous before and during the competitions. I tried to keep my mind off it, talked to the coach, and didn't watch the other guys perform. The competitors' performance was amazing, which could have put me off my stride. But in the end, I defended my champion title! I would like to point out that no victory was easy for me. Our training sessions were really strenuous. Here in Paris, it was also difficult. We put a lot of effort in preparing for the competitions, so did the competitors, who showed good jumps. I just edged them out,” said Ivan Litvinovich.

Another Belarusian trampoline gymnast, Viyaleta Bardzilouskaya, also graced the podium of the 2024 Paris Olympics winning silver for Belarus.
