MINSK, 3 December (BelTA) – The 22nd V. Liventsev Memorial international boxing tournament has kicked off at the Minsk Palace of Sports, BelTA has learned.
One hundred athletes from Belarus, China, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan have entered the competition. Participants of the traditional tournament will compete for medals in 19 weight categories (11 for men and 8 for women). The evening program on 3 December starts at 5:30 p.m., with the opening ceremony beginning half an hour prior.
The first day of the V. Liventsev Memorial will feature preliminary bouts, with quarterfinals scheduled for 4 December and semifinals – for 5 December. The final bouts will take place on 7 December. Broadcast will be available on the YouTube channel of the Belarusian Boxing Federation. Admission to the Palace of Sports stands is free.
Also on 3 December, the Men’s World Boxing Championships begin in Dubai, where Belarus will be represented by Dzianis Salotskikh (57kg), Vadzim Vauchok (67kg), Aliaksandr Radzionau (71kg), Uladzislau Smyahlikau (+92kg), and the 2021 World Championships medalist Aliaksei Alfiorau (86kg). The competition, involving athletes from 120 countries, will last until 13 December.
