
MINSK, 14 August (BelTA) - Ilya Slesarenko of Belarus has won the second stage of the Tour of Belarus, the national open championship in men's road cycling, BelTA has learned.
Cyclists competed on a 20km course starting and finishing in Dmitrovichi, Kamenets District. 18-year-old Ilya Slesarenko who claimed victory in the prologue through Belovezhskaya Pushcha just two days prior, clocked a blistering 26:12 to take the stage. Denis Mazur finished twenty seconds back to secure second place, while Aleksandr Sychugov rounded out the podium with a time of 26:50.
The result reshuffles the general classification, with Sychugov snatching the leader's jersey from Sergei Shevchenko by an 8-second margin after two stages. The 134km road race through Kamenets District is scheduled for 15 August. The Tour of Belarus will complete in Slonim on 17 August.
