MINSK, 15 August (BelTA) – HC Dinamo Minsk lost to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl 2-4 (1-0, 1-1, 0-3) at the Latvian Railways Cup, BelTA has learned.
Alexander Kitarov opened the scoring in the 13th minute, after getting a pinpoint pass from Alexander Kulakov. Yaroslavl forward Ilya Lyubushkin managed to level off midway through the second period. With two Lokomotiv players sent to the penalty box, Alexander Materukhin scored a powerplay goal to take the lead once again.
Egor Korshkov tied it up 2-2 for Lokomotiv late in the final stanza. Egor Averin made it 3-2 in the 54th minute and Dmitry Lugin scored the winner into the empty net, 4-2.
In the Latvian Railways Cup opener the Bisons were edged by Riga 2-3, while Lokomotiv lost to Ak Bars Kazan 1-2.
On 16 August Dinamo Minsk will face Ak Bars Kazan, while Dinamo Riga will take on Lokomotiv. The medal games are scheduled for 17 August.
