MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) - Aliaksei Vishneuski's crew of MAZ-SPORTauto Team placed fourth in the final stage of Dakar Rally 2021 which took place in Saudi Arabia, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian crew covered 447km in 2:36.55, 4.28 behind the winner, Martin Macik of the Czech's Big Shock Racing Team (2:32.27). Russia's Anton Shibalov came in second, 1.00 back. Third was Russia's Dmitry Sotnikov, 2.04 back.
The performance in the final stage did not spoiled Dmitry Sotnikov's victory in the Dakar 2021 general classification. His winning time is 48:23.21. Russia's Anton Shibalov placed second, 39:88 back. Third came Russia's Airat Mardeev, 1:14.35 behind the leader.
The Belarusian crew piloted by Aliaksei Vishneuski placed sixth, 2:16.35 behind the leader.
The Belarusian crew piloted by MAZ-SPORTauto leader Siarhei Viazovich was out of the Dakar 2021 competition after Stage 5 due to the problems with the gearbox.
