MINSK, 31 October (BelTA) – Belarusian tennis player Mikalai Haliak has advanced to the semifinals of the $30,000 M25 Qian Daohu 2025 Tennis Tournament in China, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian cruised past Australia’s Akira Santillan 6-2, 6-2 in the quarterfinals, setting up a semifinal clash against China’s Yecong Mo tomorrow, on 1 November. In the first round, Mikalai Haliak also secured a confident straight-set victory over Japan’s Tomohiro Masabayashi (6-4, 6-0), and in the round of 16, he outplayed Chinese tennis player Fanming Meng 6-3, 6-0.
Belarus’ Daria Khomutsianskaya is through to the semifinals of the Tashkent women’s tournament, beating Lithuania’s Laima Vladson. The Belarusian won the first set 6-4 and was up 4-1 in the second before Vladson retired. Daria Khomutsianskaya started her Tashkent campaign with a confident 6-1, 6-2 victory over Russia’s Sofiia Suslova in the first round, and then continued her run by seeing off another Russian, Ekaterina Tupitsyna, 7-6 (7-5), 6-1.
The tournaments in China and Uzbekistan will conclude on 2 November.
