Belarusian Konrad wins Omnium silver at Russian Track Cycling Championship 

MINSK, 6 July (BelTA) - Belarus won two medals on the fourth day of the Russian Track Cycling Championship in St. Petersburg on 5 July, BelTA learned.

On 5 July, the Lokosphinx cycling center hosted Omnium (a combined competition in which riders must compete in Scratch Race, Tempo Race, Elimination Race and Points Race). Belarusian Polina Konrad clocked the second result among 19 participants in the U22 Omnium. Another Belarusian Adelina Sakun finished in fifth. Ilya Slesarenko claimed bronze in the U18 Omnium among boys. 

Varvara Basiakova of Belarus rounded up the top five in the U22 Keirin (group sprint). After four days of competitions Team Belarus won 9 medals (0-5-4). On 6 July, the tournament will determine the winners in scratch, elimination race and the 500m and 1000m Heats.
