
MINSK, 29 July (BelTA) - The Belarus national futsal team will play their opening match at the 2025 Continental Futsal Championship in Thailand on 29 July, BelTA has learned.
In their first Group B preliminary round match, the Belarusian squad will face Zambia (kickoff at 10:00, live broadcast on Belarus 5 TV channel). On 30 July, Belarus will take on Australia, followed by its final group-stage clash against Saudi Arabia on 31 July.
Head coach Aleksandr Chernik has named a 14-player squad for the tournament.
Group A features Thailand, New Zealand, and Chinese Taipei. After the group stage, the top two teams from each pool will advance to the semifinals. The knockout matches for a place in the final will be held on 2 August, with the championship medal games taking place on 3 August.
For the Belarusian team, this tournament serves as the first stage of preparations for the UEFA Futsal Euro 2026, set to be held in early 2026 across venues in Lithuania, Latvia, and Slovenia.
