MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) - Belarusian athletes swept the podium in the first final at the Best Athletes Cup in track cycling in Minsk on 16 October, BelTA has learned.
Fifteen Belarusian cyclists and nine representatives from Russia took part in the women's 10-kilometer scratch race. Victory was claimed by Polina Konrad of Belarus. National team leader Hnna Tserakh finished second, while another Belarusian Taisia Naskovich rounded out the top three. The evening of 16 October will see two women’s elimination finals, and also medal events in the men’s scratch race and keirin.
Nearly 150 cyclists from Belarus and Russia are competing in the Best Athletes Cup in track cycling, including world and European champions. On the first competition day, 15 October, Belarusian athletes won three gold, two silver, and two bronze medals. The international tournament will over on 19 October.
