Belarus clinch five medals on We Are Together. Sports day two

MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – Belarus is taking part in the Summer Paralympic Games We Are Together. Sports in Sochi, BelTA has learned.

On the second day medal events were held in athletics, swimming, fencing, draughts and chess. Dmitry Bortashevich of Belarus claimed gold in the High Jump event. Another gold for Belarus was won by fencer Anastasiya Kostyuchkova. Kristina Feklistova took silver, while Andrei Pranevich placed second in the men's fencing event. Egor Shchelkanov collected silver in the 50m freestyle swimming.

The Paralympic Games We Are Together. Sports are underway in Sochi through 9 October. Athletes will take part in 436 medal events in nine summer sports: athletics, swimming, table tennis, archery, taekwondo, wheelchair fencing, football, draughts and chess. Among the participants of the event are teams from Belarus, Armenia, Germany, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Mali, Serbia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Eritrea, and Russia.
