MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) – Belarusian athlete Mikita Belavyi has clinched the title at the European Taekwondo Grand Prix Final for athletes under 18 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, BelTA has learned.
The final tournament featured the top-ranked athletes based on the results of the 2025 European Grand Prix events. Having taken bronze in the -45kg weight category at the Albanian stage in February, Mikita Belavyi went on to beat Greece’s top-seeded Athanasios Tsitakis in the semifinal on 5 December, before defeating Italy’s Filippo Lampis for the gold.
Earlier this year, Mikita Belavyi won bronze at the European Youth Summer Olympic Festival in North Macedonia and also claimed victory at the WT President’s Cup in Bulgaria. On 6 December, Belarusian Palina Mikhalchuk, medalist at the European Junior Taekwondo Championships, will vie for honors in the +68kg weight category at the Grand Prix Final in Sarajevo.
