MINSK, 28 November (BelTA) - The Belarusian national football team went down one spot to 98th in the recently published rankings of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), BelTA has learned.
Over the past month Belarus played two final matches as part of the UEFA Nations League Group C3. The Belarusian team lost 0-2 to Northern Ireland in Belfast and then drew with Bulgaria 1-1 in Sofia. The country currently holds 1226.61 points and goes 98th among 210 teams. In its sovereign history, Belarus ranked the highest, 36th place, in the FIFA rankings in February 2011.

Belarus go 55th in the FIFA women’s rankings. Belarus will play their final matches of the season on 30 November and 3 December in Tashkent against Uzbekistan which goes 48th in the FIFA rankings. The rankings are topped by the United States. Top Five also comprise England, Spain, Germany and Sweden. The next women’s rankings will be published on 20 December.
