MINSK, 27 July (BelTA) - Belarusian swimmers are competing for medals at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, BelTA has learned.
Three Belarusian athletes competed in the morning session on 27 July. Team leader Ilya Shymanovich secured a spot in the men’s 100m breaststroke semifinals, finishing fifth in his heat with a time of 59.59 seconds. His performance placed him 11th overall among 74 competitors, with the top 16 advancing. The semifinals will take place later on the same day at approximately 14:50 Minsk time. The final is scheduled for tomorrow.
Anastasiya Kuliashova of Belarus narrowly missed qualification in the women’s 100m butterfly, finishing 19th overall—just 0.22 seconds shy of a semifinal berth. Grigori Pekarski also fell short in the men’s 50m butterfly, placing 24th and trailing the last qualifier by 0.15 seconds. The Belarusian delegation will also feature swimmers Anastasia Shkurdai and Alina Zmushka in upcoming events. The 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore will conclude on 3 August.
