MINSK, 16 December (BelTA) – On 15 December, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issued a license officially authorizing financial transactions related to Belarusian potash fertilizers. The document has been published on the U.S. Treasury’s website, BelTA has learned.

The general license allows transactions with Belaruskali, the Belarusian Potash Company (BPC) and its subsidiary Agrorozkvit. It also authorizes operations with any legal entities in which these companies hold a stake of 50% or more.

During talks with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk on 13 December, U.S. Special Envoy for Belarus John Coale said that the United States is lifting sanctions on Belarusian potash. According to him, this decision was made by U.S. President Donald Trump. John Coale noted that dialogue between Minsk and Washington on sanctions will continue.
