Union State scientific forum to be held on 29 March

MOSCOW, 21 March (BelTA) – The expert and media forum “Union State. Scientific Breakthrough” will be held in Moscow on 29 March. Participants from  Minsk will join the event via a video link. The forum will take place in the run-up to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia that is observed on 2 April, BelTA learned from the Standing Committee of the Union State.

“During the open discussion, the following issues will be considered: fostering scientific and technological progress as a function of a modern state; provision of higher education taking into account the challenges of the new technological order;  importance of fundamental research, the use of research outputs in realizing the potential of science and manufacturing; implementation of the Union State sci-tech development strategy for the period until 2035: the formation of a common sci-tech space in the Union State,” the Standing Committee informed.

Invitations to participate in the forum were sent to State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, Belarus’ Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi, Belarus’ Education Minister Andrei Ivanets, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov, Aide to the President of the Russian Federation Andrei Fursenko, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Valery Falkov, Roscosmos Head Yuri Borisov, President of the Kurchatov Institute Mikhail Kovalchuk, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Krasnikov, Chair of the Board of the Sirius Federal Territory Elena Shmeleva and others.
