MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) - Brussels claims that Ukraine is ready to resume Russian oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline starting 20 April, provided that Hungary lifts its veto on a €90 billion EU loan in favor of Kiev, but Budapest is not prepared to do so until transit resumes, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said, according to RIA Novosti.
“Through Brussels, we received information from Ukraine about their readiness to resume oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline as early as Monday, on the condition that Hungary stops blocking the €90 billion EU loan. Hungary’s position has not changed: no oil, no money,” Orban wrote on social media platform X.
The Hungarian prime minister emphasized that as soon as oil supplies are resumed, Budapest will no longer obstruct the approval of the loan, in which Hungary does not participate as a guarantor.
