Traffic cops from Gomel, Russian Bryansk to take closer look at M10, M13 motorways

GOMEL, 9 October (BelTA) – Traffic police officers from Gomel Oblast and Russia's Bryansk Oblast will take a closer look at the M10 and M13 motorways on 10 October, BelTA has learned.

The joint operation will be staged on the motorways M10 Russian border – Gomel – Kobrin and M13 Bryansk – Novozybkov – Belarusian border at 15:00-24:00 on 10 October. Mobile speed traps will be deployed as part of the operation.

The tactical exercise Security Without Borders will take place on 10 October to improve the effectiveness of transboundary cooperation in traffic safety matters. Belarusian and Russian criminal police officers will assist with the exercise. Participants of the exercise will practice detecting and apprehending the people, who have hijacked a vehicle and are trying to escape justice in the other country. Apart from that, migration service officers of Gomel Oblast and Bryansk Oblast will practice stopping violations of the procedures, which regulate how foreign citizens can enter, leave, and stay in the two countries.
