Tourists from almost all continents have visited Belarusian Grandfather Frost

KAMENETS DISTRICT, 21 February (BelTA) - Tourists from almost all continents have visited the residence of the Belarusian Grandfather Frost in the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park, the host of the fairytale residence told the media, BelTA has learned.

“The winter season has been vibrant. We had a lot of visitors. Usually, there are far more organized groups than individual visitors. This year, it's the other way around. Snow maiden and I were surprised when around 200 people would show up at once. I am glad that I am not forgotten and that people come to visit me. I will happily work all year round and wait for guests,” Father Frost assured. During the high winter season, the estate would receive up to 5,000 visitors. Grandfather Frost tried to give at least a little attention to every guest, taking photos, chatting, and shaking hands. “Besides Belarusians and Russians, we have foreign guests. They come from Kazakhstan and China. Europeans have started visiting more often – from Austria, Germany, and France. We had tourists from more distant lands – from Africa (from Kenya, Uganda), from India, Pakistan, the USA, New Zealand, and Australia," the master of the residence noted.
Grandfather Frost knows how to find a way and connect with different people. “For example, guests from China love to take more photos. I've learned a few phrases in foreign languages. To make tourists feel welcome, I always say something to them in their language during our interactions,” he noted. The Grandfather Frost said that most of his correspondence comes from Belarusians. But he also has letters from foreigners, for example from China and Germany.
Marek Czulen from Slovakia had long wanted to meet the Belarusian Grandfather Frost from Belovezhskaya Pushcha. Finally, his dream came true. “This is our fourth time in Belarus. I learned about Grandfather Frost from the internet. Last year, we were here in March, but we weren’t able to see him then. We decided to come another time to meet him. It’s very beautiful here, words cannot describe it. I feel like I'm in a fairy tale," Marek shared his impressions after talking with Grandfather Frost. According to the Slovak, he is enjoying his time in Belarus. “The people in Belarus are very hospitable. I find it interesting here. Last year, we were here in May for the 80th anniversary of the Victory celebrations. It was very beautiful. I think we will definitely come again in the summer,” the man added.

More than 100,000 people visited Belovezhskaya Pushcha during the current winter tourist season. On 21 February, the national park celebrated Maslenitsa and bid farewell to Snow Maiden until next December.
