Supervisory agencies of Belarus, Russia committed to developing regional cooperation

MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) -  Cooperation between Belarus’ State Control Committee and the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation has been gaining momentum, Chairman of the State Control Committee Vasily Gerasimov said at a joint sitting  of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic in Minsk on 22 May, BelTA has learned. 

"We exercise control over the use of funds from the budget of the Union State, including those spent on the Union State programs, events and projects. We exchange experience and best practices during joint seminars and online webinars. A new thing is the interaction with the financial watchdogs the constituent entities of the Russian Federation," Vasily Gerasimov said.

Work continued with the supreme financial control institutions of the EAEU member states. One of the areas is an external audit in the EAEU bodies on the use of the EAEU budget funds. Annual inspections are carried out to see the fulfillment of international obligations on the distribution and transfer of import customs duties within the EAEU.

"Cooperation with Asia has been gathering pace, primarily with China. In particular, last year Belarus’ State Control Committee signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation with the National Audit Office of the People's Republic of China. Within the framework of the visit to China, the Belarusian delegation held working meetings with the heads of the supreme control bodies of the PRC,"  Vasily Gerasimov informed.
