Students from 8 countries seek to take part in Grace International contest in Vitebsk

VITEBSK, 6 March (BelTA) – More than 30 applications from young women representing eight countries were submitted to the organizating committee of the Grace International contest of national cultures, creativity and beauty in Vitebsk, BelTA learned from the Vitebsk Cultural Center.

Applications were accepted until 5 March. Applications were received from young women aged 18 to 30 years studying at Belarusian universities. Traditionally, contestants will include representatives of Belarus, Russia, China, Venezuela, and Sri Lanka. Students from Zimbabwe, Kyrgyzstan and Cameroon will compete for the crown for the first time. Ten contestants will make it to the final.

“This year we have seen a greater interest in the contest from universities, which is encouraging. These are Belarusian National Technical University, Minsk State Linguistic University, the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, Yanka Kupala Grodno State University and Grodno State Medical University. Applications were submitted by students of Belarusian State University, the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture, all Vitebsk universities and other educational institutions,” the Vitebsk Cultural Center informed.

Grace International is scheduled for 25-29 March. The winner will be announced at 18:00 on 29 March. For the first time, the competition will be held at Vitebsk State University.

Participants will take part in several challenges: presentation of national dishes, public speaking, talent show and fashion show. There will be a separate competition for supporters of the contestants. The organizers point to the high level of entries for the talent show submitted by applicants.  

During master classes, contestants will learn how to do facial massage, make candles and play the drums. Other entertainments will include a visit to the Ilya Repin Zdravnevo Museum Estate in Vitebsk District.

The Grace International contest of national cultures, creativity and beauty is organized by the Vitebsk Cultural Center and its branch National Cultures Center with the support of the Education Ministry and the Vitebsk City Executive Committee.
