Speaker: Belarus is on the receiving end of most advanced hybrid technologies

MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) – Belarus has experienced the effect of the most advanced hybrid technologies, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko said at the closing of the fifth session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the seventh convocation on 25 June, BelTA has learned.

“Sovereignty is expensive. It was the main idea behind the meeting of the head of state with parliamentarians, members of the Constitutional Commission, representatives of government bodies, public associations and the media. The way the situation is evolving around Belarus is a clear testimony to that. After all, it was the independent position of Belarus in the international arena and adherence to the principles of a fair world order that became the reason to unleash an open war against our people. Huge financial resources were injected into the ‘color blitzkrieg'. We have experienced the effect of the most advanced hybrid technologies - from attempts to stir up unrest in the society from within to attempts to physically eliminate top officials of the state and their close relatives,” Vladimir Andreichenko said.

Without making any effort to objectively assess the situation, the collective West embarked on the economic strangulation of the country. “And a special cynicism lies in the fact that another package of sanctions against our country was introduced on the very anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Foreign politicians do not care that ordinary people will be affected by these sanctions. In fact, they do not even hide it saying that Belarusians should be properly disciplined so that they will change their ways. Such an attitude towards a sovereign state - a UN member and an OSCE participant - is blatant lawlessness,” the parliament speaker said.

According to Vladimir Andreichenko, in an effort to eliminate a competitor from world markets, to make Belarus a springboard for the re-division of the world, the European Union driven by the United States grossly tramples the foundations of international law and the UN Charter. “In line with the 1994 Budapest Memorandum, the United Kingdom and the United States vowed to refrain from economic coercion towards the Republic of Belarus if the country gave up its nuclear weapons. The provisions of the memorandum were later set aside. Europeans' support for a policy of coercion and desire to ‘start a fire' in the center of Europe is sheer madness, because manageable chaos will backfire on them too. Moreover, those who want to punish Belarusians do not take into account our national character and do not know our history. We will not give up our native land to anyone,” he stated.
