MINSK, 5 February (BelTA) - More than 110 vehicles worked overnight to clear snow from public areas in Minsk Oblast, BelTA learned from the state association Minsk Oblast Housing and Utilities.
Due to heavy snowfall, the housing and utilities enterprises of Minsk Oblast switched to an enhanced operational mode and began nighttime snow removal and the application of de-icing materials.
“During the night of 5 February 111 utilities vehicles were in operation, with over 200 utilities workers involved. They cleared 846 km of roads of snow and used 517 tonnes of de-icing materials to treat the areas,” the organization said.
The cleanup work is ongoing.
The housing and utilities services remind vehicle owners of their obligation to clear snow within a one-meter radius around their cars. They also request that people not block roadways, as this hinders the work of the specialized machinery.
