Sergeyenko: Synergy of potential, innovations, and business engagement will transform Vitebsk Oblast

VITEBSK, 13 February (BelTA) - The fusion of industrial potential, breakthrough solutions in agriculture, and business participation will allow Vitebsk Oblast to shine with new colors, Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeyenko stated at a ceremony honoring the winners of the Person of the Year of Vitebsk Oblast 2025 title at the Vitebsk concert hall, BelTA has learned.

“We must make every effort to ensure that Vitebsk Oblast shines with new colors, becoming a place where the fusion of industrial potential, breakthrough solutions in agriculture, active business participation, and amazingly beautiful nature will allow both our citizens and numerous guests from East and West to feel comfortable and at home here,” Igor Sergeyenko said.

He noted that qualities such as responsibility, diligence, striving for excellence, and, most importantly, love for the Motherland and native land, which are inherent in the winners of the Person of the Year of Vitebsk Oblast 2025 title, are extremely necessary for everyone to accomplish the tasks set by the president.
“Recognition of your merits is also recognition of the work of thousands of honest workers who, by their example, educate our children and youth, putting into practice the thesis of the head of state ‘Time chose us. And this is a time of concrete deeds’,”  Igor Sergeyenko noted.

The speaker of the House of Representatives emphasized that the title “Person of the Year of Vitebsk Oblast” is a high assessment of personal achievements for the benefit of society, a symbol of gratitude for the work of all residents of the region. This title is presented to those who, with their energy, intellect, and kind heart, lead others, set the highest standards, create, and inspire.

According to Igor Sergeyenko, such people include leading agricultural workers, whose cultivate bread crops in the fields; talented doctors and teachers who give people life, health, and knowledge; engineers and industrialists, whose developments and work shape the region's economy. And also builders, utility workers, road construction and transport specialists, power engineers who ensure comfort, cultural and artistic figures, law enforcement officers, and labor veterans.
Igor Sergeyenko is confident that the Person of the Year of Vitebsk Oblast title will serve for the laureates not only as recognition of past achievements but also as a powerful impetus for future accomplishments.

In a comment to journalists before the awards ceremony, the speaker noted that results and achievements are made possible thanks to certain individuals. Today, the best representatives of their professions, who have achieved significant results and contributed to the development of Vitebsk Oblast, were named. There are such people in every district and city. They are grain growers, workers at industrial enterprises, teachers, doctors, cultural workers, power engineers, military personnel, and labor veterans who pass on their experience to the youth.

Igor Sergeyenko remarked that today's ceremony effectively turns the page on the year 2025. But it is also time to start working towards the results of 2026. That will depend, among other things, on the people who have become winnners, those capable of leading others and engaging them through their personal example.
