Russia’s top investigator: Russia will seek compensation for damages from Ukraine 

MINSK, 11 December (BelTA) – Russia will seek compensation for damages from Ukraine, Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin told journalists ahead of the international conference to mark the 77th anniversary of the 1948 UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

“In the process of investigating the crimes of the Kiev regime, we are documenting the material damage," Aleksandr Bastrykin said. "We have estimated that the damage has already approached RUB 600 billion. And, of course, we will seek compensation for this damage from Ukrainian nationalists.”

The 3rd international conference to mark the 77th anniversary of the 1948 UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in Minsk has brought together high-ranking officials of Belarus,  representatives from the CIS and other countries and also members of the academic communities from Bulgaria, Georgia, Italy, Poland, Russia, and the United States.
