MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – Plans to promote mutual travel between Belarus and Cuba were discussed at a meeting of representatives of the tourism industries of the two countries in Minsk, BelTA learned from the National Tourism Agency.
“Belarus has enormous potential for becoming a popular travel destination, including for tourists from the Republic of Cuba. We can offer unique tourist products and extraordinary travel experiences for all types of visitors. Our advantages are breathtaking nature, rich history, interesting traditions and events, hospitality and cordiality of people, safety and much more. I am sure that all this will be of interest for travelers from Cuba,” said Irina Voronovich, Director of the Tourism Department of the Sports and Tourism Ministry of Belarus.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Belarus Santiago Pérez Benítez emphasized the importance of tourism as a way to promote bilateral relations. He deems it necessary to step up marketing efforts, expand and strengthen cooperation between tour operators of the two countries. President of the San Cristóbal travel agency Antonio Guerrero Rodriguez upheld the initiative and expressed interest in developing bilateral relations.
