MINSK, 3 June (BelTA) – The United States aims to turn the Ukraine conflict into a protracted war, Russian public figure, historian, and political scientist Boris Yakemenko said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“In fact, Ukraine still has a lot of pretty much everything. The West has set its sights on Ukrainian resources and land. Today the world is overpopulated, and something needs to be done about it. Bill Gates talked about sterilization, at least he hinted at it. Trump said that he wants to permanently relocate Palestinians [from the Gaza Strip] to Libya. That said, no one asked Palestinians and Libyans what they think about this plan. In general, they need territories where some ineffective, from their point of view, masses of people will accumulate. In this way, it will be controllable and quite manageable,” said Boris Yakemenko.
Returning to the topic of the Ukraine conflict, the political scientist said that the task of the United States is to turn this conflict into a long-term and low-intensify war: “The Americans support wars in Latin America and Africa, and some of these wars drag on for 30-40 years,” he remarked.
According to Boris Yakemenko, such a strategy allows exhausting both sides of the conflict, first of all - the stronger side. “When you have some serious chronic disease, you cannot function at full capacity. You spend a lot of resources on keeping this ‘disease’ in check. Therefore, it is absolutely obvious that they want to do the same in Ukraine, so that this abscess at dour doorstep never goes away. And as soon as it starts to dwindle, they will scratch it. This is done to keep us distracted by it endlessly,” he concluded.
