Opinion: The state trusts the youth, while the youth trust the state

MINSK, 10 February (BelTA) – The state trusts the youth, while the youth trust the state, member of the Standing Commission on Education, Culture and Science of the House of Representatives Sergei Klishevich said at the opening of the online dialogue “Unity. Development. Independence” on 9 February, BelTA has learned.

“The Belarusian People's Congress is already a historical tradition that has played an important role in the establishment and development of the young sovereign Belarusian state. It allowed us to make this process incremental and successful. Each Belarusian People's Congress is, first of all, about the future. The fact that the youth will be greatly involved in determining the country's future attests to the continuity of the policy towards calm and stable development,” Sergei Klishevich said.

The MP stressed: “The state trusts the youth, and the youth trust the state. It is noteworthy that young people will represent various walks of life at the Belarusian People's Congress. I am sure they have something to say. The most important thing is an opportunity of being part of such a momentous event. They will be able to use this tremendous experience while building a united, strong and independent Belarus.”

The online discussion platform brought together 140 representatives of the youth union team who will take part in the Belarusian People's Congress. The main objective of the meeting was to compare notes in the run-up to this important social and political event.

The 6th Belarusian People's Congress will be held in Minsk on 11-12 February 2021 to discuss Belarus' social and economic development program for 2021-2025. The congress will bring together 2,700 delegates and invitees.
