"On Point"
MINSK, 23 June (BelTA) – Belarus is the shortest path for the USA to patch up relations with Russia and China, national security expert Aleksandr Tishchenko said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.
“The range of issues discussed suggests that Kellogg's visit was not a mere formality. It was a deep dive into important global issues, as well as Belarusian and American policy. The negotiations lasted six hours, and this suggests that an in-depth discussion took place. Apparently, the parties discussed how to challenge the status quo. Apparently, America is no longer happy with the current state of relations with Belarus,” said Aleksandr Tishchenko.
The expert noted that not only bilateral relations between Belarus and the United States were discussed, but also a broader agenda. “I want to draw attention to Aleksandr Grigorievich’s ability to build relations with international players. Partnerships, and even friendly relations have been established with many of them. Not every leader can do this. Therefore, I see an attempt to build new bridges through Belarus, because the previous ones were destroyed by the Biden administration,” he emphasized.
According to Aleksandr Tishchenko, Washington is beginning to see new trends emerging in world politics: “Therefore, most likely, Belarus and Aleksandr Grigorievich are viewed by America as the shortest path to normalizing relations with the eastern players - Russia, China, and Iran.”
A reminder, the president of Belarus met with Trump’s Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg. The agenda of the talks covered international issues and the overall situation in the world, regional issues, and Belarus-USA relations.
