A monument to Persian poetry classic Nizami Ganjavi has recently been erected in a park near the Azerbaijani embassy. Finishing works are underway to prepare the site for the official opening.

“Your country is attracting. We have well-developed cooperation in all the areas, and we need to maintain the pace set by our presidents to further develop cultural and humanitarian ties,” Ulvi Bakhshaliyev said. He thanked Vladimir Kukharev for his personal involvement in making the installation of the monument possible. “We want to make our contribution to the decoration of Minsk,” said the ambassador.

He has already visited the site and seen the work done. “It looks very beautiful and the park is greatly landscaped. The benches are ready for installation. We hope the weather will soon get better and we will talk about its official opening. We are planning to do it after 20 December. We will offer several dates. We want the opening event to be beautiful,” said Ulvi Bakhshaliyev.

Vladimir Kukharev assured that everything will be done properly, with the involvement of the public. “In the future this place will become a site for communication and holding of cultural events, establishing friendly relations between representatives of different nationalities,” the Minsk mayor said.

The parties stressed that there were no obstacles to a symbolic response - the installation of a monument to a Belarusian classic in Azerbaijan. This topic is yet to be discussed.

Nizami Ganjavi is a classic of Persian poetry, one of the greatest poets of the medieval East, the greatest romantic poet of Persian epic literature, who brought to Persian epic poetry conversational speech and a realistic style.
