SMOLEVICHI DISTRICT, 4 September (BelTA) – The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) sees enormous potential in Belarus-China cooperation for joint research and development projects, Chief Academic Secretary of the NASB Vasily Gursky said at the opening of the Chinese Goods and Services Exhibition held at the trade and exhibition center of the China-Belarus Great Stone Industrial Park on 3 September, BelTA has learned.

According to Vasily Gursky, the event has special significance and relevance today, as the SCO summit is shaping a new architecture for global cooperation and interaction, as well as determining directions for the further development of the world economy. “This is not merely a demonstration of Chinese companies’ products and services, but a platform for dialogue, the exchange of experience and technologies, and the establishment of new ties between representatives of science, industry, and business. We especially appreciate the contribution of our Chinese partners to the development of the industrial park, which has become a vivid example of the effective synthesis of science, high technology, and industrial potential,” he said.

The exhibition has enormous practical interest for scientists. “Science does not develop in isolation. It is at such venues that demand emerges for new scientific developments, technologies, materials, and digitalization solutions. By seeing modern examples of products and equipment, our scientists and engineers can better understand each other’s needs, explore new markets, and channel their developments in directions required by the real sector of the economy,” Vasily Gursky added.

The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus sees vast potential in Belarus-China cooperation for joint R&D and innovation projects, the development of high‑tech industries, personnel training, and the transfer of advanced developments.

“We are ready for joint projects in such areas as instrument engineering, microelectronics, new materials, nanotechnology, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence. I am confident that the exhibition will become an important step toward further strengthening bilateral ties, open new horizons for cooperation, and serve as a stimulus for implementing large‑scale initiatives in the interests of sustainable development and the well‑being of our countries,” Vasily Gursky added.
The Chinese Goods and Services Exhibition is taking place in the Great Stone Industrial Park for the fourth time and will run until 5 September. The theme is “Science and Technology”. More than 120 leading Chinese enterprises from various provinces, cities, and regions of China have come to Belarus to participate. The event is organized by CMEC International Exhibition, a Chinese company that is part of the SINOMACH Group, in cooperation with Great Stone Industrial Park Development Company.
