Myanmar’s Consulate General in Minsk opens book of condolence for Myint Swe

MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) – Belarusian First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lukashevich visited the Consulate General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Minsk and signed the Book of Condolence following the passing of former Acting President and First Vice President of Myanmar Myint Swe, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The government and people of Myanmar have lost a true patriot who dedicated his entire life to serving his homeland. This is truly an irreparable loss for all Myanmar citizens. However, I am convinced that in memory of this outstanding political and military leader, the country will continue to move confidently along the path of progress and prosperity,” the message of condolences reads.

Words of sympathy and support were conveyed to the family, friends and associates of Myint Swe.

Earlier, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko sent condolences to Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of Myanmar's State Administration Council on the passing of Myint Swe.
